    This recipe is my version of General Tsos chicken. The white wine is optional, but does give a great element to the dish. I also left out 1 tsp of finely minced ginger, which I usually add. I will list it in the ingredients below. Please subscribe to Gochujang Mama for more recipes. \r

    1 to 1 1/2 of chicken breast \r
    3/4 c all purpose flour\r

    2 tbls corn starch\r

    Directions: Mix everything together and form into balls. Wrap Flounder Fillets around them thin side down and place on oiled foil lined pan. Spray each ball with olive oil cooking spray or brush lightly with olive oil. Bake at 350*F for 20-25 minutes or until fish is at least 145*F.\r

    • 1 ½ teaspoons dried tarragon\r
    • 1 teaspoon white pepper\r

    In medium sauce pot melt butter with oil. Add onion, garlic and flour. Stir until flour is lightly browned. Slowly whisk in milk, then seasonings. Heat to boiling for five minutes stirring constantly. Blend in shrimp.

    Gyudon (牛丼), literally means beef bowl, is an extremely popular Japanese dish consisting of a bowl of rice topped with beef and onions, simmered in a mildly sweet and salty broth, flavored with dashi (fish stock), soy sauce, sake, sugar and mirin. \r
    Gyudon can be found in many restaurants in Japan and some fast food chains specialize exclusively in the dish. The largest gyudon chains in Japan are Yoshinoya, Matusya and Sukiya.\r

  • How To Brown Your Turkey

    Servings: About 15\r
    Carbs: 2g/serving\r

    Ingredients:\r
    A) Turkey, 20 pounder\r
    B) Butter (3 sticks, melted + 4-5 tbsp softened)\r
    C) Wine! (bottle of dry white wine; doesnt need to be expensive)\r
    D) sea salt\r
    E) black pepper\r
    F) More wine (optional, but if you are cooking the bird why not treat yourself!)\r
    G) Cheesecloth!!! -- \r
    \r
    Directions\r
    1. Wash your bird in cold water. Be sure to pat it dry inside and out with paper towels. Let it sit in the roasting rack for about 90 minutes to 2 hours -- easier to butter the sucker! \r
    2. Place roasting rack on lowest position in the oven and pre-heat to 450.\r
    3. Combine the melted butter and wine in sauce pan. Soak your cheese cloth in the butter & wine mixture. \r
    4. Meanwhile, salt and pepper the inside of the bird. Next rub the softened butter on the bird, including the bottom. Finally salt and pepper on the outside of the bird. \r
    5. Next, wring out the cheesecloth and cover the bird. Make sure cheesecloth stays on the bird and inside roasting pan (dont want it touching in the oven!!!). Using a pastry brush baste the cheesecloth with the wine and butter mixture. Keep your wine and butter mixture on the stove, warming up as needed to keep butter melted.\r
    6. Place bird in the oven and cook for 30 minutes; after 30 minutes, turn the temperature down to 350. You want to baste the cheesecloth EVERY 30 minutes with a pastry brush to keep the bird moist. After 3 hours, remove cheesecloth but continue to baste the turkey every 30 minutes. If you dont have enough of the wine and butter mix, use pan juices. If you find your turkey browning too fast in some spots after cheesecloth is off, cover that portion with tin foil to protect the skin. After 4 hours, check the temperature of the bird, poking your thermometer in the thickest part of the thigh without touching bone. When unstuffed bird reaches 180 degrees, remove from oven. If you are cooking a stuffed bird, the stuffing should be about 165 degrees. \r
    7. Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.\r

    For the batter – 1 ½ cup chick pea flour (besan/gram flour) or all-purpose flour/maida, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder or as per taste, 1-2 tbsp all-purpose flour/maida/rice flour, 1 ½ tbsp cooking oil, approx. ¾ cup water;\r
    Cooking Oil for deep-frying;\r

    Sirloin Tip Steaks (2-3 steaks)
    1 can of GOLDEN mushroom soup
    ½ can of water (use can from soup)
    ½ can of white cooking wine (use can from soup)
    1 packet of onion soup mix
    1 clove minced garlic
    1 medium onion cut into rings

    In your slow cooker, combine soup, water, cooking wine, onion soup mix, and minced garlic. Wisk together to remove lumps, then add onions and steaks (we just put them into the liquid whole, and pull the meat apart once it is cooked... you can cut meat up before cooking if you choose). Make sure the steaks are fully covered in the mixture; you can add a little liquid if needed to cover the steaks. Cook on low for 8 hours.

    Ingredients: 2 lbs Spaghetti pasta 3 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce ½ cup tomato paste 1½ lbs ground pork 6 to 8 pieces red hotdogs, sliced diagonally (OPTIONAL) ½ cup granulated white sugar 1 medium yellow onion, minced 2 teaspoons minced garlic 2 cups beef broth 1 cup shredded cheese 2 tablespoons cooking oil Salt and pepper to taste\r

    This alcoholic beverage is produced by infusing snakes into rice wine or sometimes inside grain alcohol. This liquid delicacy is popular in China, Vietnam and Korea but can be found across most of the Asian world. The snakes, preferable the more dangerous and venomous the better are preserved for their essence, the venom itself will dissolve inside the confines of the alcohol and is believed to reinvigorate a person down to their soul. The large poisonous reptile is sliced through the belly and drained of its blood before being placed in the infused alcohol, there are often a mix of herbs, spices and medical oddities, and left to steep for months. It is estimated that snake wines have been around since 300 BC. Snake wine labels will often promise to help curve baldness, failing eyesight and increase ual libedo. Some truly mad brewers will mix in scorpions as well as snakes, for extra power. Snake wine is dangerously high in alcohol and the bravest of alcoholics will even eat parts of the snake fermenting inside the glass bottle, which if you have ever eaten the worm at the bottom of a tequila bottle you know how this night will probably end. The typical cost for a bottle, around 150 to 300 American bucks. \r

    3 - Civet Coffee\r
    Otherwise known as the most expensive coffee in the world. This bizarre form of coffee is derived from coffee cherries being eaten and partially digested and then defecated by Civets. Most commonly Asian palm civets, also known as toddy cats, these small furry mammals native primarily to Southeastern Asia, have a unique digestion system which ually ferments the grounds in their tummies. The civets digestive juices enter into the beans and modify the microstructural properties adding enzymes and additional breakdowns for storage proteins. After this whole crazy process the coffee cherries are regathered up, packed and sold, this super expensive delicacy coffee is most commonly sold for around 150 American dollars per pound. \r

    2 - Edible Birds Nests\r
    This dish has been circulating through China for over 400 years and consists of ual real bird constructed homes, on a Chinese menu, its literal translation means, swallows nest. Birds nests are boiled down in hot water to prepare the broth sweet soup, most of those nests are formed with solidified bird saliva. The Chinese believe that this unique meal helps to promote good health, especially for the skin. Edible nests from birds are among the most expensive animal product meal consumed by human beings in the entire world, in Asia one nest typically retails for around 2,500 dollars per kilogram. The red nest variety will sometimes cost 10,000 American dollars for a single bowl.\r

    1 - Fried Creepy Crawlers \r
    Get ready for it! Were about to combine a whole bunch of nasty buggies which people around the world eat into the first place slot in order to finish off this adventurously tasty list. Fried spiders, especially tarantulas are quite popular in Cambodian street markets and are said to be rich in proteins and folic acids. Deep fried grasshopper can be found as a tasty roadside treat in Mexico, most of Asia as well as several parts of the United States. Large tree caterpillars, found in Africa, when fried up make a delicious snack. Worms also deep fried to golden perfection are another treat high in protein which you can usually sample in Zimbabwe. Silkworms flavored with hot sauce and pepper is a popular favorite in Chinese cuisine and is believed to bring good luck. Leaf cutter Ants are said to be an aphrodisiac and help fight cancer, find these dried queen ants served up in dishes in Colombia. Finally roaches, these nasty brown and black creepy crawlers are served fried with honey and soy sauce in Asia as well as several strange restaurants located in New Jersey. There you have it, a whole mess of tasty buggy treats for you to fry up and consume, that is, if your taste buds are bold, daring and full of guts!

    Japchae - Korean Glass Noodles with Stir-fried Vegetables) \r
    \r
    Ingredients \r
    \r
    For Beef: 1/2 lb. beef, cut into 3 long thin strips (Such as sirloin or chuck)\r
    1 Tablespoon soy sauce\r
    1 Tablespoon sugar\r
    1/2 Tablespoon sesame oil \r
    1/2 Tablespoon mirin (Seasoned rice wine, if you dont have it, leave it out)\r
    1 clove garlic, chopped\r
    \r
    2 eggs, lightly beaten\r
    1/2 medium size onion, thinly sliced\r
    1 Korean chili pepper or 1/4 bell pepper, fine julienne \r
    1/2 large size carrot, fine julienne\r
    5 shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced\r
    \r
    For Spinach: 11-12 oz. fresh spinach (About a bunch)\r
    1 clove garlic, chopped \r
    1/4 teaspoon salt\r
    1 teaspoon sesame oil\r
    1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds\r
    pinch of black pepper\r
    \r
    14 oz. Korean Sweet Potato Noodles (Known as glass noodles or cellophane noodles) \r
    \r
    For Sauce: 1/3 cup soy sauce\r
    1/3 cup sugar or honey\r
    2 Tablespoons sesame oil\r
    1 Tablespoon sesame seeds\r
    black pepper\r
    \r
    Salt, black pepper and vegetable or sesame oil as much needed\r
    \r
    Directions\r
    1. Combine beef and next 5 ingredients for beef in a medium mixing bowl. Toss and coat evenly; let stand at least 10 minutes.\r
    \r
    2. Heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. add 1 teaspoon oil; swirl to coat. Add beaten eggs swirl skillet to egg covers surface in a thin layer. Cook until its just set, about 1 minute, then flip over and cook for another minute. Slip omelet onto a plate and let it cool.\r

    3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 teaspoon oil; swirl to coat. Add onion and a pinch of salt to pan; sauté 5 minutes. Remove onion from pan, keep warm. Add 1 teaspoon oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add chili pepper and a pinch of salt to pan; sauté 1 minute. Remove chili pepper from pan, keep warm. Add 1 teaspoon oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add 1 teaspoon oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add carrots and a pinch of salt to pan; sauté 3 minutes. Remove carrot from pan, keep warm. Add 1 teaspoon oil; swirl to coat. Add mushrooms and a pinch of salt* to pan; sauté 2 minutes. Remove from pan, keep warm. Add 1 teaspoon oil; swirl to coat. Add marinated beef to pan; sauté 7 minutes or until cooked through and all moisture has evaporated. Remove from pan, keep warm. \r
    \r
    \r
    4. Bring a large sauce pan of salted water to a boil. Add spinach, cook about 10 seconds, no much longer. Move spinach from the boiling water to ice water immediately. Squeeze out water from spinach as much as you can. Combine squeezed spinach with garlic and next 4 ingredients in a mixing bowl, mix it with you hand. Set aside.\r
    \r
    5. In same water blenched spinach, add Korean sweet potato noodles and 1 Tablespoon oil. Boil noodles according to package directions or 6 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.\r
    \r
    \r
    6. whisk all ingredients for sauce (From soy to black pepper) in a small bowl, set aside. Slice cooled egg omelet into thin ribbons and set aside.\r
    \r
    7. Cut the noodles as needed. In a large mixing bowl or a large plate add noodles and pour sauce. gently mix it until noodles absolve sauce; add stir-fried vegetables and beef, toss gently to combine. Garnish Japchae with reserved egg ribbons and more sesame seeds as desired. \r
    Serve hot or at room temperature. \r

    Rainbow Quinoa Salad\r
    1 cup quinoa\r
    2 cups vegetable broth\r
    1 cup corn\r
    2 carrots, grated\r
    1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved\r
    1 cup red cabbage, shredded\r
    1 cup broccoli florets\r
    ¼ cup olive oil\r
    3 tbsp white wine vinegar\r
    1 tsp Dijon mustard\r
    1 tsp honey\r
    salt and pepper \r
    \r
    In a medium saucepan, combine quinoa and vegetable broth. Bring it to a boil.\r
    Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.\r
    Turn off heat and allow quinoa to sit for 5-10 minutes.\r
    Allow quinoa to cool completely.\r
    In a large bowl combine cooled quinoa with corn, carrots, cherry tomatoes, red cabbage and broccoli florets.\r
    In a small bowl whisk olive oil, white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, salt and pepper.\r
    Pour dressing over salad and stir until its evenly dressed.\r
    Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.\r

    1 English cucumber, diced\r

    ¼ cup olive oil\r
    1 lemon\r
    salt and pepper\r

    In a medium saucepan, combine quinoa and vegetable broth. Bring it to a boil.\r

    1 cup quinoa\r
    1 can black beans, rinsed and drained\r
    1 can corn, drained\r
    1 red bell pepper, finely diced\r
    1 clove garlic, minced\r
    1 jalapeno, minced (optional)\r
    1 cup salsa\r
    1½ cup vegetable broth\r
    1 lime\r
    fresh cilantro to taste\r
    \r
    In a large skillet combine quinoa, black beans, corn, red bell pepper, garlic, jalapeno, salsa and vegetable broth.\r
    Stir well and bring mixture to a boil.\r
    Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until liquid is all absorbed.\r
    Turn off heat and all quinoa to sit for an additional 5 minutes. \r
    Finish with fresh lime juice and freshly chopped cilantro.\r
    Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.\r

    Shawarma sandwiches are a tasty way to add meat to pita bread or similar unleavened bread. Chicken makes a good filling because it is easy to cut into sandwich sized slices and tastes delicious.\r

    Shawarma is vastly popular across the middle-east. Chicken baked in a yoghurt marinade, rolled up in pita bread and served with tahini.\r

    Ingredients - How to make Lebanese Chicken Shawarma Wrap - Delicious Spicy Chicken Shawarma\r

    *My 1 tbsp Oil = 50 ml or (One Ladle = 50 ml)\r

    *2 whole Boneless Chicken Large Breast\r
    *6-8 Pita Bread \r
    *1/2 tsp Black cardamom powder\r
    *2 tsp Garam Masala Powder\r
    *1 tsp Black pepper powder\r
    *2 tbsp Minced garlic or finely chopped Garlic\r
    *2 tbsp Yoghurt/Curd\r
    *3 tsp Olive oil or Vegetable Oil\r
    *1 tsp Red chilli powder\r
    *2 tbsp Malt vinegar, Apple cider vinegar or white balsamic vinegar\r
    *3 tbsp Lemon Juice\r
    *Salt to Taste\r
    *2 Cup Shredded Cabbage\r
    *1 Fresh parsley Sprigs (Optional)\r
    *1/2 cup chopped cucumber\r
    *1/2 cup chopped Beetroot\r

    *7 finely chopped Garlic cloves\r
    *3 tbsp Fresh cream\r

    Okay, so technically this recipe should ually be called Shawarma-Style Chicken. True shawarma is cooked with stacked, spice-marinated meats lamb, turkey, chicken, beef, or a mix of meats on a vertical spit. \r
    \r
    The shawarma turns and cooks on the spit for hours and hours, basted in fat and its own juices. Fat = flavor = tasty, amazing shawarma. Thin slices of meat are shaved from the surface and served, either on their own or tucked inside a warm flatbread, topped with tahini or garlic sauce. Shawarma is one of lifes great pleasures.\r

    Ive been trying to replicate the flavor of shawarma at home for months, playing with different spice combinations and cooking methods. At first I tried buying premade shawarma spice blends from the Middle Eastern markets, but none of them made my mouth happy. I needed more spice, more flavor, more oomph. So I began to experiment. Then finally, last week, I nailed it.\r

    This recipe is probably as close as Ill ever come to making shawarma at home. My family says its even better than the shawarma at our local Lebanese restaurant. \r

    You have two choices for cooking this recipe in the oven or on the grill. To be honest both cooking methods taste great, there really isnt a big difference between the two. \r
    \r
    I use boneless skinless chicken meat (a combination of dark and light meat) in the recipe. Shawarma gets a lot of its flavor from the meat fat that it is basted in. Ive replaced the flavor of the skin fat with olive oil, including a final saute in olive oil prior to serving. \r
    \r
    It may seem strange to saute meat that has already been cooked, but youre going to have to trust me on this one. The extra saute adds a ton of flavor and really gives it a shawarma-like texture that cant be replicated in the oven or on the grill. \r
    \r
    If youre trying to cut down on your oil intake you dont need to do the extra saute, it will save you 2 tablespoons of olive oil… it wont taste exly like shawarma, but it will be yummy. But please, dont replace the chicken thighs with breast meat. \r
    \r
    This dish really needs some dark meat in it to make it taste great. You can make it with all chicken thighs, if you prefer (I ually love it that way), but dont sub all chicken breast. Pretty please.\r

  • Ballistic Gel Crushed By Hydraulic Press And Exploded By Bomb

    In this video I crush ballistic gel with my hydraulic press. First to test out the ballistic gel, I blow it up with a homemade dry ice bomb. Before I crush it with the hydraulic press I put a block of the ballistic gel on top of a dry ice bomb. As soon as I set the dry ice bomb I run and wait for it to explode! The explosion is huge! However, it ually doesnt make any huge cuts or gashes to the ballistic gel. If the gel were wrapped around the bomb it for sure would have destroyed it. Then I crush another block in the hydraulic press. It ually holds up quite well in the hydraulic press, much longer than I thought it would. After it breaks it splits into tiny pieces that is really satisfying to watch.\r
